Before booking and attending any course at Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady, please read these terms carefully. By booking a course at Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. DEPOSITS - A non-refundable deposit of £50 per person is required to secure each place on the course.

Deposits are non-refundable (or transferable to another course if you change your course date) at any time, under any circumstances. Unless I must cancel your course of which your deposit will be refunded in full.

​

2. Places are allocated on a first come first cleared funds basis.

Your desired date for your course will ONLY be confirmed on confirmed payment.

​

3. REMAINING BALANCES - The remaining balance of your course fee of £395.00 becomes payable, in full, at least 7 days before the start date of your course. If remaining balances aren’t settled at least 7 days before your course start date, I will send you a polite reminder and your place will be made available again on my website until you have paid your remaining balance. 

​

4. CANCELLATIONS/CHANGES - If you CANCEL your course completely with more than 7 days’ notice prior to your course start date and you have already paid your course fee in full, I will refund you the balance paid minus the £50 deposit. If you CANCEL your course completely with LESS than 7 days’ notice prior to your course start date and you have paid your course fees in full, you will NOT be entitled to any refund at all and you will have to re-book and pay in full again should you decide to attend the course at a later date. If you CHANGE your course date, provided you do it with at least (more than) 7 days’ notice there will be no additional cost to you. If you CHANGE your course date with LESS than 7 days’ notice, you will be charged an additional £50 re-booking fee. This will need to be paid BEFORE I confirm your new desired course date.

If I must CANCEL or CHANGE your course for any reason at any time, I will either refund you your full course fee including deposit or re-book you onto a new date of your choosing with no additional cost to you.

4.1. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady will not be held responsible for associated costs or losses as a result of cancellations or changes. Including but not limited to earnings, travel costs, accommodation costs etc.

​

4.2. In the event of a cancellation of the course by Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady part way through the course you will be offered a place on the next available course or a pro rata refund will be offered for the outstanding proportion of the course.

I reserve the right to cancel or change any course dates at any time, for any reason. Reasons may include but are not limited to; bereavement, extreme weather conditions, health, emergencies, structural concern and material acquirement.

5. Students are responsible for assessing their own physical and learning suitability for the courses. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady reserves the right to refuse acceptance of bookings at any time before or during the course where a student's attendance may seem unsuitable or impact the ability of Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady to provide a safe and high level of service.

​

6. Students must provide suitable workwear and safety boots suitable for work in a construction area. Steel toe cap boots are preferred but any good study footwear will suffice. Clothing will also become heavily soiled so recommend using overalls or bring a change of clothes and footwear.

​

7. Students must adhere to given Health and Safety guidelines and use safety equipment provided by Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady.

​

8. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady will not be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage incurred by students because of attending or visiting Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady.

​

9. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady will not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage of any students vehicles or any of its contents whilst on the grounds/car park of Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady. Please bring a change of clothes to drive to and from the course in, to avoid damage and soiling of your vehicle.

​

10. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady will not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage of any students’ personal possessions/items, including but not limited to; mobile phones, headphones, keys, valuable personal possessions, bags, jewellery, tablets, medication, electricals and eyewear, whilst on the premises of Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady.

 

11. The activities conducted at Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady present the similar risk of injury as any construction site and DIY project at home. Courses involve the use of equipment and machinery, lifting and reaching. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady will not be held responsible for any injury, loss or damage as a result of visiting Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady or attending the courses.

12. Students have the right to refuse to partake in any activity. No refund is available. Each student attends at their own risk. Consult your doctor if in doubt about your physical suitability BEFORE you book onto a course. You are responsible for informing your course instructor of any serious allergies or medical conditions that could affect you whilst partaking in the course, ahead of booking so your participation can be evaluated and approved.

13. Fees paid are for the temporary use of Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady facilities, tools and materials only.

​

14. Course dates may be changed by Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady without notice. The school will not be responsible for loss or damage due to altered dates.

​

15. Alternative dates will be offered where courses are cancelled by Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady for any reason.

​

16. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady reserves the right to refuse any application before or during the course of any student.

​

17. All students who attend Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady will receive a certificate at the end of the course.

This is a course completion certificate issued by Learn to Plaster with carl Melady and in no way represents any recognised industry standard qualification nor does it indicate the level of ability of any student either during or after the course.

​

18. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady reserves the right to change course content for any reason. If you are already booked onto the course and have paid in full when changes are made, you will be informed ahead of your course date of any changes to the curriculum.

19. I will allow students to take some pictures of their work, but you will NOT be permitted to take film/video of any kind on the course at any time. Failure to adhere to this rule could result in immediate exclusion from the course and loss of all course fees. Anybody found to have taken any film/video of me or any content of my course without my prior knowledge could have legal action taken against them. Any and all content provided on my course is owned by Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady, and the posting of any content online or by any other means will ensure breach of copyright and privacy laws and legal action will be taken.

20. Learn to Plaster with Carl Melady reserves the right to withdraw any promotion, offer or discount.

21. By booking and making any payment, you have understood and are agreeing to these terms and conditions listed above.
